Matt Gill has departed Exeter to join Rob Edwards' coaching staff at League One Tranmere.
Edwards was announced as Rovers' new manager this week, leaving his role as Paul Tisdale's assistant, and he has now moved for Gill as a player-coach. The 33-year-old midfielder was on loan at Exeter from Bristol Rovers from October until the end of last season. Tranmere this week signed Eliot Richards, who had been on loan at Exeter towards the end of the 2013/14 season.
