Crawley have signed striker Gavin Tomlin for an undisclosed fee from League One rivals Port Vale.

The 30-year-old scored six goals in 28 games last season and becomes Town boss John Gregory's sixth summer signing. "I'm delighted to get this one over the line. I have always admired Gavin," Gregory told the club website. "He is a striker first and foremost with a good goalscoring record during his career, but he can also play in midfield or out wide. "He's two-footed and has got a terrific attitude. Everyone who I spoke to about him was very complementary about him as a professional and a person. "He's going to play a big part for us next season. A lot of clubs were keen on him but he's coming to us and I am very happy about that." Jimmy Smith, Brian Jensen, Lanre Oyebanjo, Ryan Dickson and Sonny Bradley have also joined Crawley this summer.
