Notts C have Halsall to thank

Jordan Cranston has revealed former Wolves youth-team coach Mick Halsall was central to his move to Notts County.

The 21-year-old full-back left Molineux earlier in the summer and last week linked back up with Halsall after signing a short-term deal with the Magpies which runs until January. "It was a relief to be fair, to get the move," Cranston told the club's official website. "I've been looking for a club all pre-season and thankfully by getting in touch with Mick, I was able to come down for training and earn a contract. "I've got a good relationship with Mick and we've always kept in contact. Thankfully I was given the opportunity. "I know a few of the lads here to be fair with Jake (Cassidy) and Zeli (Ismail) here too and I'm just happy I'm playing and getting some game time." The former Wales Under-19 international made his debut in last week's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash against Mansfield and made an impressive contribution in a 2-0 victory. Cranston added: "It's always nice to make a good impression on your debut and it's always good to beat your rivals with a clean sheet. Hopefully we can progress in that competition too. "But my main aim is to secure a longer deal here with Notts and get a longer contract."
