More injury woe for Hoskins

Image: Will Hoskins: Out until January

Oxford striker Will Hoskins is likely to be out of action until January after tearing a tendon in his groin.

The 28-year-old arrived at the Kassam last month and he was playing regular first-team football again having spent a long time on the sidelines through injury. But he now looks set for an operation after an MRI scan on the injury he sustained against Southend on Saturday showed an avulsion of his adductor tendon. Head coach Michael Appleton told the club's official website: "It's obviously a big blow to us and to the player himself. Will had started to look sharp and was linking things together at the top of the pitch for us. "He will visit a specialist this week and we will know more about the treatment and recovery time but right now we are looking at him being unavailable again until the turn of the year. "Will is in good spirits and is very positive about the situation. He is a good pro and we know he will do all he can to get fit again as soon as possible."
