Morecambe have announced their appeal against Jamie Devitt's dismissal at home to Wycombe has been successful.

The midfielder was given his marching orders in Saturday's loss to the Sky Bet League Two leaders for an off-the-ball incident with Peter Murphy in the second half. Devitt will now not face a three-match suspension and will be available for this weekend's trip to high-flying Burton. "We felt very strongly at the time that the offence did not warrant a red card and after studying a video of the incident closely we felt it was right and proper to appeal the decision," Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said on his club's official website. "We are delighted that the authorities have agreed with our viewpoint and I am pleased that Jamie will be available for the next three games because he is a big player for us."
