Sheffield United striker Joe Ironside has joined Vanarama Conference outfit Alfreton on an 18-month deal.
Ironside made 23 appearances in all for the Blades but only four of them were starts. He did feature in the club's FA Youth Cup final side in 2011. The 21-year-old enjoyed a loan spell earlier this season at Hartlepool, where he scored scored four goals in 16 games. Speaking to Alfreton's official website, Ironside said: "I'm extremely excited. The club has ambitious plans. "I enjoyed my time on loan earlier in the season and I can't wait to get started again. I am hopeful I can help keep the club up." Last week Alfreton, who are in the Conference relegation zone, announced they had secured a six-figure deal with American investors.
