Luton boss John Still hopes to sign former Premier League striker Andrew Johnson.

Still has been exploring the possibility of bringing the 33-year-old to Kenilworth Road since his contract with Crystal Palace expired at the beginning of this month. Further talks are planned with Johnson on Thursday and Still told Luton Today: "We put off a meeting planned for earlier in the week, nothing to do with either of us, but we couldn't get time, so he's coming in Thursday. "We've got on great, so the talks are not going to be difficult. I don't know Andrew, but we've got on great and I mean really great." As well as Palace, where he has had two spells during his career, Johnson, who lives nearby in Bedfordshire, has also played for Birmingham, Everton, Fulham and QPR. The striker, capped eight times by England, is available on a free transfer. Meanwhile, Still has rubbished reports linking Mark Cullen with a move away from Kenilworth Road. The Hatters' leading scorer has been left on the bench for the past two matches, fuelling speculation that the forward could be leaving the League Two promotion chasers during the transfer window. Still said: "That's a load of rubbish. I've not spoken to anyone about Mark Cullen, no-one's rung me about Mark Cullen and I've not rung anyone about Mark Cullen. "We think we've given Mark what is a well-earned rest as he's worked his absolute socks off."
