Scunthorpe make Anyon swoop

Scunthorpe have signed goalkeeper Joe Anyon on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, who had been with Crewe on non-contract terms, will provide added cover following injuries to current Scunthorpe number one Sam Slocombe and understudy James Severn. Slocombe and Severn both broke their arm in separate incidents during the recent home defeat to Bristol City. Iron boss Mark Robins drafted in Luke Daniels from West Brom last week. Former Shrewsbury and Port Vale goalkeeper Anyon, who started out at Port Vale, failed to make a first-team appearance for the Alex.
