Kennedy eyes spring return

Injured Sheffield United defender Terry Kennedy has targeted a first-team return before the end of the season.
Blades' coaching staff initially feared Kennedy's campaign was over when he sustained knee cartilage damage in last month's draw at Crawley, but the 21-year-old was relieved to learn last week that he will be sidelined for just four weeks. "It is good news that I will only miss around a month or so and hopefully be back in the team before the end of the season because when it happened I thought it could have been months and months on the sidelines," Kennedy told the club's official website. "But it is still frustrating, it has been such a good few months for me personally, having got myself fit and into the team. "After signing a new contract recently I was really looking to push on, but something always seems to happen. "I have to keep working hard, though, and believe that if I do my opportunities will come along again." Kennedy has made a total of 18 senior appearances for the Blades since making his debut as an 18-year-old at Swansea on the final day of the 2010/11 season.
