Taylor eyes play-off charge

Andy Taylor insists Walsall can still target the play-offs - but admits time is running out.
The Saddlers host Sheffield United on Tuesday in their final league game before a historic Wembley appearance on Sunday. They face Bristol City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final - their first ever game at Wembley in their 127-year history, but are just eight points outside of the play-offs in League One and Taylor believes they still have a genuine chance of reaching the top six. "Look at Barnsley, they were behind us, two or three points off the bottom four, and all of a sudden they win a few on the bounce and they're in the play offs," he told Press Association Sport. "It is that tight, there are plenty of points left but now is the time of the season you need to start building some momentum and consistency." Taylor joined Walsall from United in 2012 and insisted the Saddlers are focused on the league despite Wembley looming. "They are games you want to be playing in," said the left-back. "We want to improve the general form really, we haven't been happy, we need to put it right and the results should follow. "We shouldn't be where we are in the league but we're there for a reason and it's only us who can correct it."
