Portsmouth hope for Dunne boost

Portsmouth caretaker manager Gary Waddock is hopeful James Dunne will be fit to face Mansfield at the weekend.

The 25-year-old midfielder was in Pompey's line-up for Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Bury but pulled out on the morning of the game with a knee problem. However, Waddock revealed Dunne's withdrawal was precautionary so he could be available for the trip to Field Mill. "Dunney was due to play and we prepared for the game with him in the side, but we got a call in the morning that he had a slight problem," said Waddock. "We'll dust ourselves down and see who's available for the next match."
