Teenage Sheffield United midfielder Louis Reed has signed a three-year contract with the League One club.

Reed made his first start for the Blades in Saturday's clash with Bristol City and has impressed since becoming United's youngest-ever League player. The 17-year-old is delighted to have signed his first professional contract, and said: "I have worked really hard throughout pre-season and the gaffer (Nigel Clough) stuck to his word that he would pick the team based on performances in the friendlies and in training." Manager Clough added: "It's incredible that he has only just turned 17. He has had a terrific pre-season and is progressing really well. We will look after Louis but he will be in and around the first-team, he looks a very good prospect."
