Burnett relieved after win

Wayne Burnett was relieved after Ade Yusuff's double helped Dagenham climb up the League Two table as they saw off Accrington 2-1.

After one win in seven games the Daggers needed a lift and second half substitute Yusuff provided it with a quickfire double which saw off in-form Stanley - and now Burnett wants them to kick on and move from the bottom half of the table. Up until a month ago Yusuff, 20, had been working in Wagamama's restaurant and playing non-league football but he celebrated his first league goals much to the delight of his team. "We didn't play particularly well in the first half and they were probably the better team," said Burnett. "But we came out in the second half and looked a completely different team. Yusuff was brilliant. He is still learning but when you have got power and pace you are always going to trouble teams and we stretched them a bit more in the second half. "Our goalkeeper Mark Cousins has also had to pull of two very good saves and he has also earned us the three points. It was a really really good all-round team performance and I am really pleased. "I said to the players at times our performances haven't reflected our league position but we have made individual errors which have cost us at times. "We had a game plan and it worked. Accrington are the in-form team so to get three points is a massive performance from us." Stanley boss John Coleman was gutted following his first defeat in charge - Stanley had secured victories in his first three games and shot up into the top half of the table. "I am bitterly disappointed and so are the players," said Coleman. "We did enough to win this game but for a 15 minute spell and that's where they won the game. "We fluffed our lines as we were leading 1-0 at half time and we were comfortable and in control. Credit to Dagenham but they were two cheap goals from our point of view - they will say they are well worked goals. "But three points are like gold dust in this league and we have passed up this chance to take them and won't get this opportunity back. We should have won but games like this do happen in football but you can't let them happen too often." Stanley bossed the early stages and Rob Atkinson had a header cleared off the line although keeper Aaron Chapman did pull off a wonder save to keep out Brian Saah's fierce strike. It was nip and tuck after that until the Reds took the lead in the 39th minute. John O'Sullivan's cross from the left was miss-hit in the centre by Kal Naismith and it came out to West Ham loanee Sean Maguire who stroked the ball low into the net. Yusuff came on at the restart and the Daggers equalised in the 57th minute when the young striker raced through the Stanley backline and fired low and hard into the net for his first league goal. And Yusuff did exactly the same in the 64th minute when he once again got the ball to the left of the area, raced forward and slotted into the far corner of the net to double the tally. It was all Stanley then as Tom Aldred had a header which came down off the crossbar and Stanley appealed it had cross the line - but their appeals fell on deaf ears. Keeper Cousins also saved his side when team-mate Scott Doe stuck his leg out to a Lee Molyneux cross and almost scored a spectacular own goal however the shotstopper kept it out on the line. Stanley may also be looking for another keeper after Chesterfield loanee Aaron Chapman was stretchered off in injury time after landing awkwardly when tipping over a shot. "We think it is his ankle and leg, it looked bad," added Coleman.
