Awford backs loan duo to shine

Portsmouth boss Andy Awford has backed new loan signings Nyron Nosworthy and Cole Kpekawa to have a positive impact this season.
Blackpool defender Nosworthy and QPR youngster Kpekawa were handed debuts against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday but could not prevent Pompey slipping to a 1-0 defeat. Awford said: "Nyron hasn't played for a while, but he looked solid enough and will get stronger the more he plays. "The lads only arrived on the Thursday afternoon and you can't do much work with them in one training session. "Hopefully we can have a good week with them and then go again when we face Shrewsbury next Saturday."
