Charlton seal Benson deal

Charlton have completed the signing of Dagenham & Redbridge striker Paul Benson for an undisclosed fee.
Addicks boss Phil Parkinson has been chasing the 30-year-old all summer and finally got his man after the clubs agreed a deal. "We're really pleased to get Paul," said Parkinson. "He's got a good goalscoring record over the years at Dagenham & Redbridge and he's also a hard-working frontman. "We've worked hard on the deal and it's taken a while, but that's understandable. Dagenham didn't want to lose him because he's played an important part in their recent history." Ironically, Benson could make his debut against the Daggers in Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at The Valley.
