Brown heaps praise on Mellor

Preston boss Phil Brown has lauded leading marksman Neil Mellor's finishing ability.

The striker bagged the League One player of the month award for September after netting six times during the month, taking his goal haul to eight overall. Mellor began his career with Liverpool and Brown believes the Lilywhites are now reaping the rewards of his time with the Barclays Premier League giants. "In terms of finishing, Neil is one of the best I have ever worked with during my time in the game," he told the Lancashire Evening Post. "The education which Neil received during his early days at Liverpool, we are gaining the benefits from now. "His work-rate has been phenomenal. He deserves every goal and assist that he gets because he doesn't stop running."
