Chamberlain on song for Saints

Alex Chamberlain shrugged off the speculation surrounding his future to rescue a 3-3 draw for Southampton against FC Biel-Bienne.

The teenage winger, a reported summer target for Arsenal, crashed home from the edge of the penalty area with eight minutes remaining of the friendly in Switzerland. Saints had been 2-0 up courtesy of a brace from David Connolly but fell behind after boss Nigel Adkins made 11 changes at the interval. "It was a great exercise, the lads worked really hard and I'm delighted with the fitness levels," said Adkins. "David Connolly got two good goals, Adam Lallana was class and Alex Chamberlain scored a wonderful goal. We're really pleased about it."
