Colchester v Bournemouth preview

Image: Vincent: Boost for U's

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League One clash between Colchester and Bournemouth at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Ashley Vincent is in contention to make his Colchester return. The striker had recovered from the knee injury that had sidelined him since August in time to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but was not included in John Ward's squad for the 2-0 defeat. Defender Magnus Okuonghae returns from suspension to bolster the Us backline, and Ward may be tempted to reintroduce Pat Baldwin in defence following the loss in South Yorkshire. The 28-year-old has almost recovered from a broken toe and will face a late assessment. Tom Eastman was recalled from his loan spell at Crawley to cover for Okuonghae and Baldwin at the back, but after his return ended in defeat, he may sit out the midweek clash. Centre-half Matt Heath (ankle) is a definite absentee as the U's look to bounce back from a first League One defeat in five games. Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury will assess the fitness of midfielders Harry Arter and Joe Partington. Both players were injured during Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Bury - Partington replaced Arter then had to be replaced by Wes Fogden - and are rated as doubtful. Shaun MacDonald (toe) is close to a return but will not feature, while Mark Molesley (hamstring) remains out. New signing Charlie Sheringham could again make the bench and will be hoping to make his debut. Canadian international Jaime Peters should again feature after extending his loan spell from Ipswich for another month. The Cherries will travel to Essex looking to end a poor run of form in the league, having gone five games without a win.
