Colchester have completed the permanent signing of defender Matthew Briggs on a free transfer.
Briggs, 24, who had spent the latter part of last season on loan from Millwall, has signed a two-year contract with Colchester following his release by the London club. He was the youngest-ever Premier League player when he made his debut for first club Fulham aged 16 years and 65 days.
