Barnsley stepped up their pre-season preparations with a 2-0 victory over local rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell on Tuesday.
The Tykes took the lead in the opening period when, after cleverly working his way down the right wing, Scott Wiseman found summer signing David Perkins, who finished coolly. Despite Wednesday proving more impressive after the interval, Barnsley sealed the win through Jim O'Brien's deflected effort in the 80th minute.
