Reid ready for survival fight

Peter Reid admits Plymouth Argyle are already fighting for their Football League lives after their 3-0 defeat at Gillingham.
Argyle, who have already suffered back-to-back relegations, battled bravely at Priestfield but two penalties from Danny Kedwell and a Luke Rooney strike saw the high-flying Gills march into third spot. Reid acknowledges that Plymouth's downward spiral through the leagues is showing few signs of coming to an end. "We are talking about a relegation battle already," said Reid. "We need to improve but I just said to the players there's no use feeling sorry for ourselves, we've got to keep going. "There are no excuses. The team that went out there for 72 minutes were good enough, then we conceded. The first goal was important here and it went against us. The sending off also changed the game. We had to change our shape but I think the way they got the other two goals was a bit too easy for them. "At 0-0 I wouldn't say I was comfortable but I was pleased with the way they went about the game. We haven't worked their keeper enough, though I don't think our keeper had many saves to make."
