Fletcher furious with referee

Plymouth boss Carl Fletcher directed his anger in the direction of the referee after his side's late 2-1 defeat at Cheltenham.

Fletcher, who started from the off in Saturday's League Two clash at Whaddon Road, saw his side take the lead in the 26th minute courtesy of Steve Elliott's own goal. And it was a lead they held on to until the 83rd minute when referee Jon Moss pointed to the penalty spot after Curtis Nelson had brought down Elliott from behind, leaving Darryl Duffy to level matters. Worse followed for Argyle when Jamie Griffiths received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Luke Garbutt minutes later, and Duffy compounded the visitors' misery when he pounced from close range to snatch an injury-time winner for Cheltenham. Fletcher said: "I can't believe how much went wrong for us, from losing Matty Lecointe in the warm-up and having to play without a recognised striker, to having a man sent off. "There was someone in the stadium who is a professional, who in my view hasn't done his job properly, and we have had to take the brunt of it. When the FA talk about a respect campaign, respect has to work both ways. "I've got lads in the changing room who are 17 and 18 years old, who are on the floor after working their socks off all week. It's really disappointing to come here and have someone take three points off them. This affects their livelihood, whereas he just goes home afterwards and forgets about it. You can only control so much, when you have someone who is not doing their job properly it's unacceptable."
