Plymouth Argyle boss Carl Fletcher was unhappy with his side's defensive efforts in the 2-1 loss at Oxford in League Two on Saturday.
U's striker Deane Smalley blasted two goals in three minutes before Robbie Williams' free-kick reduced the arrears with a quarter of an hour remaining at the Kassam Stadium. "We let ourselves down defensively in the first half," said Fletcher. "We were not where we needed to be at the back. "With the ball we were really good and we battled well in the second half. It was just a shame we couldn't come up with a second goal. "There were a lot of positives in the way we played, especially with our midfield. "But I wasn't happy with our defending because they were too poor goals we conceded."
