Pearce pens new deal with County

Notts County defender Krystian Pearce has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2013.

Pearce, who arrived at Meadow Lane on a free transfer last summer, has established himself as a figurehead in the heart of the defence in recent weeks, forming a solid partnership alongside Mike Edwards after Liam Chilvers was sidelined through injury. The 21-year-old originally signed a deal until the end of this season, but his performances have persuaded manager Paul Ince to tie him to a longer contract.
