Slade cools play-off talk

Manager Russell Slade played down talk of the League One play-offs after Leyton Orient's late victory over Oldham.

Paul-Jose M'Poku stepped off the bench to score the only goal of the game and extend Orient's unbeaten league run to 13 games. Belgium Under-19 international winger M'Poku, on loan from Tottenham, had only been on the pitch for seven minutes when he controlled a pass from midfielder Dean Cox and unleashed a long-range thunderbolt into the net. Orient are seventh in the table, eight points off the play-offs but with four games in hand on MK Dons who are the team above them. "Another clean sheet was satisfying. People talk about getting into the play-offs but I look at the league table and, although it's true we have some games in hand, we are eight points adrift," said Slade. "All we can do is take care of ourselves and just keep plodding away. We know that we are a force at home and we'll keep chipping away to pick up points away from home and see where all that takes us."
