Injuries hurt Grecians' attack

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale was left to rue an injury crisis which deprived him of three strikers in the 2-0 defeat to MK Dons.

Richard Logan, John O'Flynn, Guillem Bauza and Daniel Nardiello all missed the clash on Saturday. Only on-loan Reading striker Nicholas Bignall was fit and missed Exeter's best chance by nodding a free header wide as goals from Jabo Ibehre and Dean Bowditch sealed the Dons' win. He said: "I'm disappointed. It was frustrating and I'm willing to move on to the game on Tuesday now. We won't dwell on it because I didn't think we did too bad. We have played worse and won games in fact. "We didn't play badly, but it was a difficult situation with our four strikers out injured. We had to try and adapt and play a different way, but we didn't do too bad. "It's a difficult job, but I still thought we could have done something. We got caught on the break and tried to play it more like a counter-attacking away game, but they're a very competent side. They know what they're doing and once they got in front, they made it very difficult. "We were the side doing all the pressing and making the extra runs to try and get outside the game and they were playing inside."
