No Pools appeal over Luscombe

Hartlepool boss Mick Wadsworth has confirmed the club will not appeal Nathan Luscombe's red card against Walsall.

With Pools already down to the bare bones following injuries to Antony Sweeney, Gary Liddle and Nobby Solano, there was the temptation to see if Luscombe's three-game ban could be reduced or even overturned ahead of the league visit of Huddersfield. However, having carefully reviewed video evidence, Wadsworth was afraid that the club could run the risk of invoking an additional one-match suspension for what the FA term a "frivolous appeal". Wadsworth told the Hartlepool Mail: "We just can't afford to risk an extra game. "It's far from ideal being without Nathan for one game, let alone three, but four would have been even worse. "But it's always difficult to get these things overturned and I think it's one we're just going to have to accept and get on with."
