Byrne recovery 'going well'

On-loan defender Nathan Byrne has revealed he is "three to four weeks" away from a return to training with Bournemouth.

The Tottenham full-back joined the Cherries on a season-long loan in the summer and started the first 12 games of the season before suffering a nasty ankle tendon injury which has kept him out of action since. The 19-year-old has undergone surgery on the damaged area and is now starting to look forward to his long-awaited comeback. He told the club's official website: "It's been two months since my operation and I'm starting to run on the treadmill. I'm going to start running outside on Friday so I'm about three to four weeks away now from normal training with the lads. "It's gone quicker than I thought it would have, it's gone well and my head's been in the right place and that's important. "I saw the surgeon a couple of weeks ago and he told me to progress with how it feels. It's going well and I feel good, so I feel like I'm on track at the moment."
