Clark keen to shop in sales

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark says he "might need a bigger shopping bag in January" after being troubled by his side's recent defensive displays.
The Terriers sit third in League One ahead of their promotion rivals' games on Saturday afternoon but Clark expects more from his men. They could have moved second with victory over Carlisle on Friday night but had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the Galpharm Stadium. That was disappointing for Clark and he could now make a bigger impact in the January sales. "The incentive was there to get the three points to into the top two and put the pressure on the teams playing tomorrow but we've got to dust ourselves down as there's no point feeling sorry for ourselves," he said after the match. "There are lots of positives but ultimately we have to stop this nonsense in terms of what we are doing at the back. "It is driving me crazy and we will work a lot on the defensive work. "The same players keep making the same errors so I might need a bigger shopping bag than I thought in January." Clark was full of praise for Jordan Rhodes after Huddersfield's star striker found the back of the net for his 21st goal of the season in all competitions. The forward missed a late chance to give the Yorkshire club victory but Clark still feels he will have impressed the watching Scotland boss Craig Levein. "I tell you what if he gets the same chance on Monday (against Notts County) he will just tuck it in with no second thoughts. "His overall performance tonight was of an international class player. His hold-up play, his movement, his touch, his desire, his winning of the aerial battles against two big lads was top drawer. "Craig Levein was here and he must have been impressed by that as he was absolutely superb."
