Pools show Wright the door

Hartlepool have released defender Stephen Wright following the expiry of his short-term contract.
The 31-year-old centre-half, whose previous clubs include Liverpool, Sunderland and Coventry, joined Pools in September and has made 11 appearances. But Wright has struggled with injury since the end of November, playing his final game in the home defeat to Preston and sidelined since with a troublesome Achilles injury.
