Groves laying the foundations

Paul Groves said it will take time for his plans to bear fruit after Bournemouth were held to a goalless draw by Yeovil on Saturday.

Yeovil, who eased their relegation concerns, were forced to deal with a barrage of efforts from the Cherries, which were thwarted by the visitors' on-loan Chelsea goalkeeper Sam Walker. Bournemouth have won only one their last 11 games and co-interim manager Groves said: "I think you would be a little bit disappointed because we're at home and you want to win. But overall I felt that we were in control of the game. "We haven't had lots of good chances but we've had lots of half-chances which maybe on another day we could have got that goal. "It's been a big week for them and a tough week for them. I thought at set-plays we looked like a bit of a threat. We had opportunities that were scrambled away a little bit at times. At the death there was a couple of headers which, maybe on another day, they'd go in. "I thought in the second-half we were better. I thought we'd played the ball forward quicker. But you have to take into consideration that we've changed things - we have our own ideas and it doesn't happen overnight. It takes time to put a structure in place and a way of playing."
