Preston manager Graham Westley is hopeful of completing a deal for Wycombe's highly-rated goalscorer Stuart Beavon.

Beavon scored 25 goals for relegated Wanderers last season, and the 28-year-old is now a confirmed target for the Lilywhites. Westley's squad has undergone a complete overhaul already this summer, with 10 new players starting in a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield in the first round of the Capital One Cup, and Beavon could be the next man to make the move to Deepdale. Westley told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We've made a bid, that's no secret. "We're hoping that Stuart will come here and be part of what we're doing. "He's a big asset. Negotiations are ongoing, we're hopeful they'll come to a conclusion and it would be great to have him at this football club."
