Moore keeping Rovers grounded

Manager Ronnie Moore is refusing to get carried away by Tranmere's start to the season after beating Coventry 2-0 at home.

Rovers sit top of League One after courtesy of late goals from Jake Cassidy and Andy Robinson. Cassidy, 19, on loan from Wolves, struck 11 minutes from time before Robinson slotted home a second just four minutes later - maintaining Tranmere's perfect home league record. "It is a great start to the season for us but firstly I want to get 50 points and see where we are," said Moore. "When you look at our budget, to be at the top of the league is unreal so the players have been absolutely fantastic and I can't praise them enough." On the game, Moore added: "I think it was a very tight game and it looked nailed on for a goalless draw. We didn't play well or keep the ball as well as we can but it was a great bit of football to win the game. With 11 minutes to go I didn't see it coming but we have kept going. "You could see that Coventry are a good side and they have quality but we persevered. Anyone who wasn't here and sees the scoreline may think it was comfortable but it was far from it. We dug in and we had tin hats on at times, but we got the breaks."
