Gillingham have confirmed that teenager Jake Hessenthaler has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 19-year-old midfielder has committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain with the Gills until the end of the 2018/19 season. Hessenthaler, a product of the youth academy, has spent time on loan with Margate and Tamworth and manager Peter Taylor handed him his first-team debut in November as a substitute in the 4-1 defeat by Rotherham.
