No excuses for Johnson

Gary Johnson has 'no excuses' and admits his Yeovil future could be out of his hands after his side's dismal 3-0 defeat to Rochdale.

The Glovers were booed off at half time and full time as the visitors dominated proceedings. It took Keith Hill's men just five minutes to take the lead through Jack O'Connell who headed home from a Michael Rose corner. Skipper Ian Henderson doubled the scoreline after just 16 minutes when a weak Yeovil clearance fell straight to his feet to tuck home. The victory was wrapped up in the 52nd minute when Henderson got his second, nodding home Matt Done's looped cross. Johnson said: "I think it's up there with the toughest time I have experienced because we don't seem to be getting that group that is giving that desire and commitment for any period of time. "We have to arrest the slide. We have got to find the players that are going to get us out of the relegation zone which looks like a hard job at the moment. "My resolve is strong, because this is my group, I have brought them in so there are no excuses, but at this moment in time it doesn't look a strong enough group. I am the one that's got to turn it around until someone tells me otherwise. "I may be given more time that's up to the board, they have always been supportive. "Everybody has a shelf life and if people are deciding that's now then that's up to them, but from my point of view we will keep doing all we can." In contrast, Dale manager Keith Hill is hoping his side can show their free-scoring away form in front of their own fans. He said: "It's been an excellent week and I think it's justification for giving the boys a rest. They deserved it, the players they are marvellous. "It's been a long week and the journeys we have been on up and down the country, it's been a tremendous effort. "We needed to dust ourselves off after the Swindon win and get greedy again. We came down here to win the game and get three points so it's job done. "Points are the prize and the performances are reassuring for us. "As much as we looked very, very dangerous, for me we were too charitable to the opposition. The opposition are a good side, they are just short of confidence. "We are asking the players to score from corners because we are getting a lot of them and it's important we take advantage of set plays. "Yeovil are a flagship club to show what Rochdale can achieve and I want to take them as far as we possibly can."
