Notts County win Jones appeal

Notts County have won their appeal against the red card Gary Jones received in the 2-1 defeat to Yeovil on Saturday.
The midfielder was dismissed by referee Stuart Attwell in the Magpies' 2-1 defeat to Yeovil on Saturday. Jones was sent off by referee Stuart Atwell for his challenge on Glovers defender Nathan Smith with the game locked at 0-0 and while County did take the lead, they conceded two late goals to lose. Jones was set for a three-game ban but is now available, starting with County's League One trip to Sheffield United on Friday. Chief executive Jim Rodwell told the club's official site: "I was as astonished as anyone else in the ground on Saturday when Mr Attwell brandished a red card at Gary Jones for what appeared to be, at the time, to me an excellently timed tackle. "I've no doubt that the sending off contributed hugely to our defeat, however I'm delighted that common sense has prevailed and the FA have seen sense to uphold our appeal on this occasion, meaning neither the football club or Gary Jones will be penalised further than they already have been. "Gary has proved himself to be an integral part of our squad and has been a key part of the successful start we have made to the current campaign. It is great news he will not be missing any of our upcoming games for what would have been an unjustified suspension."
