Roberts ruled out for six weeks

Chesterfield have been dealt a blow with the news that Gary Roberts will be out for around six weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 30-year-old winger suffered the injury during the closing stages of the 3-1 league defeat against his former club Swindon last weekend. Roberts underwent a scan on Monday and, after receiving the results, the club have confirmed that he looks set to be sidelined until March. The first game Roberts will miss is the all-Derbyshire FA Cup clash against Derby at the iPro Stadium on Saturday. His absence is a huge disappointment for the Spireites - a fact not lost on Rams head coach Steve McClaren. "Chesterfield have some very good players," said McClaren ahead of the fourth-round tie. "Everybody knows about Eoin Doyle but the boy Gary Roberts is one of several very good midfield players they have. I like the way he plays and he will be a big loss to them." Roberts has had recurring hamstring trouble this season. His right hamstring kept him out for around three weeks near the beginning of the campaign but this latest issue is with his left-hand side.
