Boss reveals Llera regrets

Ian Holloway regrets not being able to give defender Miguel Llera more first-team opportunities during his time at Blackpool.

Llera secured a permanent move to Sheffield Wednesday last week after a brief loan spell, having made only one senior appearance for Blackpool after Holloway signed him in the summer. However, the Seasiders boss revealed unfounded fears over the future of defensive duo Ian Evatt and Stephen Crainey were key to Llera's recruitment, casting the 32-year-old Spaniard as a victim of circumstance. "He's probably the most unlucky man in the world because we signed him thinking that Evatt might leave and Crainey might not stay," said Holloway. "But Crainey signs, Matt Hill signs and Evatt stays, so that's why Miguel has been limited. "If a club like Sheffield Wednesday want him and he's done well enough to play for them I feel sorry for him that I couldn't give him a chance. "But life's about timing sometimes and, unfortunately for Miguel, his timing at this club stank. But I'm delighted that he's gone to Sheffield Wednesday and good luck."
