Latics too slick for Minstermen

First-half goals from James Tarkowski and Robbie Simpson handed Oldham a 2-0 friendly victory at York on Saturday.

Centre-back Tarkowski powered home a header from Youssouf M'Changama's corner to give Paul Dickov's men a 23rd-minute lead. Robbie Simpson linked up with strike partner Daniel Taylor to double Latics advantage before half-time, after which a raft of substitutions hindered both teams at Bootham Crescent.
