Carlisle striker Rory Loy has had successful surgery after breaking his leg in the Boxing Day clash at Preston.

The 23-year-old Scot broke his right leg in the 16th minute of the 3-3 draw at Deepdale following a challenge with North End defender David Gray. Loy, signed from Rangers for an undisclosed fee during the 2011 January transfer window, is currently detained at Royal Preston Hospital. He has been a regular starter for Greg Abbott's side this season, scoring four goals in 25 appearances.
