Carlisle teenager Kyle Dempsey has ended speculation over his future by signing a new deal with the club.
The 19-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a new 18-month contract to keep him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2016 after protracted talks between his agent and the club were concluded on Friday. The Cumbrians posted on their official Twitter site: "That's Kyle Dempsey @-kyledempsey all done - signed up until the summer of 2016. He'll be talking to the press on Thursday morning #cufc." Dempsey, who had to choose between Carlisle and rugby league at the age of 16 when offered a scholarship by Wigan Warriors, had been linked with a move to Burnley after failing to agree to a new contract offer at the end of the year.
