Gradi turns down Prem player

Image: Gradi: Trusts the players he's got

Dario Gradi has decided against bringing a Premier League striker on loan to Crewe, opting to trust the players he has.

The Alex manager revealed to the club's official website that he was reluctant to bring in the top-flight forward that player recruitment coach Neil Baker suggested to him. "Neil has come up with the name of a Premier League striker as a possible loan player," he said. "But I am reluctant to do that because we have our own and I don't want to leave any of them out at the moment. "The first question we will get asked is will they play in the team and I cannot guarantee that because I have five or six of my own and I class young Max Clayton in that." As well as Clayton, Crewe have Shaun Miller, Ashley Westwood, Byron Moore, Ajay Leitch-Smith and Jordan Connerton as attacking options.
