Port Vale will hold a pitch inspection to determine whether their League Two clash against local rivals Crewe will go ahead.

Like many parts of the country this week, Stoke has been hit by snow and freezing temperatures. Vale will conduct an inspection on Friday afternoon at 12.30pm but they are not optimistic. A statement on the club's official website said: "There has been no improvement in the weather over the last few days, meaning that the big derby match against Crewe on Saturday is rated as doubtful. "After discussions with the Football League, it has been agreed there will be a pitch inspection to see whether or not the game goes ahead."
