Spiller backing for Gills keeper

Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller has backed Alan Julian after his mistake gifted Torquay an equaliser on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Julian allowed Kevin Nicholson's 20-yard free-kick to squirm through his hands and legs and creep over the line in injury time, but Spiller insists the team are fully behind the former Stevenage shot-stopper following a string of first-half saves that kept them in the game. Spiller told the club's official website: "There was a terrible atmosphere in the dressing room afterwards. It was very quiet. Jules came in immediately and apologised. "He knows he made a mistake but you've got to remember that the saves he made in the first half kept us in the game at times. He is a good honest professional, he doesn't need telling. He's come in and held his hands up. "He has the hardest position on the pitch because he's had a good, solid game but that one mistake has proved costly. "Jules is a great lad and a great character and we need to get behind him now and keep his head up for next weekend."
