Midfielder Tommy Fraser has left Port Vale after his contract with the club was terminated by mutual consent.
The 23-year-old was signed by former boss Micky Adams in June 2009 but he has only started nine games this season and decided to look elsewhere for first-team opportunities. Valiants manager Jim Gannon told the club's official website: "I had a conversation with Tom last week, where he expressed a desire to leave the club to pursue more first-team football. "We discussed the possibility of a loan move but as Tom's contract expires at the end of this season, the club agreed upon request to terminate his current deal." Fraser, who signed on a free from Brighton, had previously been made captain at Vale Park and admitted he was sad to be leaving. "I have very fond memories of my time at Vale Park and I've made a lot of friends here," he said. "I will certainly continue to look out for the club's results for this season and beyond."
