Williams not a worry: Bratt

Port Vale chair Bill Bratt believes Robbie Williams' say will be irrelevant as the shareholders vote to remove the board.

After numerous debates and protests the unpopular board have resisted calls to step down, and the popstar has handed his 21.2% stake to the Port Vale Supporters' Club to cast his proxy ahead of Wednesday's EGM. Bratt told The Sentinel: "I know most people think we're going to be voted out, but I know a lot of people still support the board. "The board's and Robbie's vote basically cancel each other out, so then it will come down to the rest of the shareholders. "I think it could come down to a five per cent difference, so I believe it will be very close." And Bratt insisted he will leave the club should the vote go against him: "I can't speak for the rest of the board, but if we're voted off I will walk away because of the flak I've taken."
