Sims makes Valiants plea

Prospective new Port Vale board member Mark Sims says he will try to persuade the current regime to consider local investment.

Sims was elected to the Vale board following an Extraordinary General Meeting on Wednesday and is mulling over the offer, while three of five directors survived a vote on the board's future. And as supporters' group North London Valiants (NLV) begin the search for a fifth director after being offered the chance by the remaining members, Sims wants the board to consider investment from local businessman Mo Chaudry. "I want what's best for Port Vale - if that means Mo Chaudry, then so be it," Sims told The Sentinel. "I'd prefer to have a local investor involved who feels more for the community, but I need to sit down and convince the board that Mo's bid is a fantastic opportunity. "I'll be representing the fans and, as long as they keep backing me, I'll try my best for them."
