Grew: No place for Fraser

Former captain Tommy Fraser has been training with Port Vale, but assistant manager Mark Grew says he won't be re-signed.

Fraser made 64 appearances for Vale before moving on to Barnet in January. But after leaving the Bees last week, the 23-year-old has joined up with his Micky Adams' squad to maintain his fitness. Grew said having the ex-skipper back in the changing room adds an extra buzz to training, but he does not expect anything to come of his brief return to Vale Park. He told The Sentinel: "I think Tommy's girlfriend lives up here, so he asked if he could come in and train for a few days. Micky said yes. "It's nice to see Tommy because he's a bubbly character who will certainly liven up the dressing room. "The gaffer has said he's coming in this week, but there's been no discussion about signing him."
