Adams keen to boost Vale squad

Manager Micky Adams still wants to add a few more players to his new-look Port Vale squad before the start of the season.
Adams has already brought in six new faces this summer and hopes striker Liam Dickinson will make it seven once he proves his fitness at the club. "I'm happy with the quality we have brought in. We did lose out on a couple of people who chose not to join, but the six boys we have taken on have fitted in very well," Adams told the club's official website. "They have good personalities and look decent players so we are pleased with that. "But we still think we are a couple of bodies short in certain areas. We are working on that. Come the start of the season I would hope we will have another couple of players for fans to get excited about." On Dickinson, who is training with Vale as he continues his rehabilitation following a serious injury, Adams added: "He is moving along nicely but it is important that we don't rush him. "The good thing is that he is getting to know the players as he goes along so if we do happen to sign him, we are not bringing an entirely new body into the football club."
