Sampson relishing Reds test

Northampton manager Ian Sampson has challenged his players to enjoy the challenge of facing Liverpool at Anfield.

The Cobblers have been drawn to face Roy Hodgson's side in the third round of the Carling Cup and will travel to the famous stadium at the end of September. Sampson said: "It's a great draw for us and that's our reward for putting in a fantastic performance at Reading. "We want to get as much money out of the game as we can and without being too disrespectful to this football club this might be the only chance we get to play at Anfield. "To play against one of the biggest teams in the world is a great opportunity for the players and I'm sure it will be a great night for the fans. "I have actually played there for Sunderland reserves and I scored two goals - but that was only in front of about 30 people so this will be very different!"
